A note-taking app with calendar view, folder organization, tags, and sticky notes you can pin to your desktop.
Getting Started
- Launch DeskNote — the calendar view is shown by default
- Click New Note (top-right) or press Ctrl + Cmd + N
- Type your note — it saves automatically as you type
- Double-click any note in the list to open it as a sticky note on your desktop
Calendar View
- Click any date to see notes created on that day
- Dates with notes are visually marked on the calendar
- Navigate with previous/next month and day buttons, or jump to today
- Week start day is configurable (Monday or Sunday)
Folder Management
- Switch to the Folder tab in the left pane
- Create nested folder hierarchies to categorize notes
- Drag and drop notes between folders
- Right-click folders to create, rename, duplicate, or delete
Tags
- Assign multiple tags to any note
- Click a tag to filter notes by that tag
- Click the same tag again to clear the filter
- Tags are automatically collected from all notes
Sticky Notes
- Double-click a note to open it as a floating sticky note
- Toggle always-on-top to keep a note visible over other windows
- Each sticky note remembers its position and size
- Open sticky notes are automatically restored when you relaunch DeskNote
- Customize font and theme color per sticky note
Search
- Search by keyword (matches file name and content, case-insensitive)
- Search by date range (start and/or end date)
- Combine keyword and date for precise filtering
- Results update in real time as you type

Tips
- Auto-save — Notes save automatically 300ms after you stop typing. No manual save needed.
- Drag and drop — Drop text or files from other apps to create notes instantly
- Per-note themes — Give important sticky notes distinct colors so they stand out on your desktop
Privacy
- All notes are stored as plain text files on your local disk
- No data is sent to any external server
- No cloud sync — your notes stay on your device
