Quick3DModeling User Guide

Quick3DModeling turns simple parametric shapes into editable, print-aware projects without hiding the solid-and-hole structure.

Getting Started

  1. Create a project from the Library or choose a Template.
  2. Add a primitive or Print Helper from Shapes.
  3. Select it in the viewport or Outliner and enter exact values in Inspector.
  4. Use workplanes, snap, measurement, alignment, and Solid/Hole roles to assemble the model.
  5. Run Print Check, resolve blocking findings, then export 3MF, STL, or OBJ.
Tip: Place a solid base before Hole objects in the same Boolean group.

Interface Overview

From Editable CSG to Print Check

Mesh export stays unavailable while the current Print Check has blocking errors, so warnings remain visible before a slicer receives the model.

  • Parametric primitives: Build with boxes, cylinders, spheres, cones, tubes, text, and other dimension-driven shapes.
  • Solid and Hole CSG: Add and subtract material with an explicit, non-destructive Boolean tree.
  • Templates and helpers: Start with stands, hooks, plates, clips, brackets, holes, nut traps, spacers, and cable channels.
  • Exact inspection: Edit size, position, rotation, color, clearance, fillet, chamfer, alignment, and workplanes.
  • Print Check: Review mesh validity, bed fit, build-plate position, walls, details, and export scope.
  • Project and mesh export: Keep editable .q3dm files and create 3MF, STL, or OBJ for downstream tools.
Note: Print Check is an editing aid, not a guarantee of mechanical strength, printer safety, dimensional tolerance, or fitness for a particular use.

Settings

Open Settings to review the following app-specific controls:

  • Theme, viewport, grid, snap, and measurement preferences
  • Keyboard shortcut customization
  • Autosave, version snapshots, and external-change behavior
  • Print bed and export defaults

Trial, Free, and Pro use the same functional feature set. Pro removes mobile ads and the daily desktop support reminder.

Keyboard Shortcuts

On Apple platforms, use Command where the app maps a displayed Ctrl shortcut to the platform primary modifier. The in-app shortcut page remains authoritative.

Tips & Tricks

Place a solid base before Hole objects in the same Boolean group.
Use clearance on screws, pins, cables, and moving joints instead of manually oversizing every hole.
Pin important measurements before changing the surrounding geometry.
Prefer 3MF when units and color matter; use STL for broad slicer compatibility.

Troubleshooting

Privacy

  • Projects and geometry are processed locally.
  • QuickLibrary accesses only locations you add.
  • Editable .q3dm projects, version snapshots, and exports remain under your control.
  • No account is required for core modeling.
Your responsibility: Do not create prohibited items or rely on the App as a substitute for engineering, material, or safety validation.
