QuickSheet User Guide
QuickSheet prioritizes data fidelity: values remain text unless you explicitly calculate, and CSV dialect details survive a normal save.
Getting Started
- Open a CSV, TSV, or XLSX file from a configured location.
- Review Import Preview and confirm the detected file dialect.
- Search, filter, sort, inspect problems, and edit values or formulas.
- Turn off Read-Only only when you are ready to change a large or sensitive file.
- Save in place when preserving the source format, or export a new delivery file.
Tip: Use Import Preview whenever a file comes from a new system or locale.

Why QuickSheet Does Not Break CSV
QuickSheet does not silently convert identifiers, leading zeros, or date-like values, and it keeps the source untouched until you choose Save.
- CSV-safe editing: Preserve leading zeros, long identifiers, date-like strings, encoding, delimiter, newline, BOM, and quote style.
- Large-file workflow: Stream rows into temporary local storage so search, filter, sort, and scrolling remain practical.
- Import Preview: Confirm encoding, delimiter, quote, header, skipped rows, and reused profiles before opening.
- Value-focused XLSX: Open multiple sheets as values and formula text with clear compatibility limits.
- Data tools: Find, replace, filter, sort, column operations, problems, copy, and formula assistance.
- VFS Library: Browse supported local, cloud, NAS, and remote locations through the shared file layer.
Note: XLSX support is value-focused and does not preserve styles, merged cells, charts, images, pivot tables, or macros.
Settings
Open Settings to review the following app-specific controls:
- Large-file Read-Only thresholds and performance preferences
- Import, encoding, delimiter, newline, quote, and export defaults
- Keyboard shortcut customization
- Library locations, appearance, metadata, recovery, and privacy
Trial, Free, and Pro use the same functional feature set. Pro removes mobile ads and the daily desktop support reminder.
Keyboard Shortcuts
On Apple platforms, use Command where the app maps a displayed Ctrl shortcut to the platform primary modifier. The in-app shortcut page remains authoritative.

Tips & Tricks
Use Import Preview whenever a file comes from a new system or locale.
Keep large files Read-Only while exploring them, then enable editing deliberately.
Use CSV or TSV when presentation formatting is not required and data size is large.
Do not use QuickSheet to round-trip an XLSX whose styles, charts, pivots, images, or macros must be preserved.
Troubleshooting

| A large file cannot be edited | Check the Read-Only threshold, available disk space, and background load status. |
| XLSX formatting disappeared | QuickSheet is value-focused; use the source application when styles, charts, images, pivots, or macros must round-trip. |
Privacy
- File contents are processed on-device.
- QuickSheet does not provide hosted sync or shared editing.
- Cloud and NAS locations are accessed directly with credentials you configure.
- Tags, favorites, import profiles, and read-only state are stored outside source files.
Your responsibility: Keep independent backups before bulk replacement or format conversion, especially when the source feeds another system.
