QuickStudio - Guide

QuickStudio User Guide

QuickStudio keeps multitrack editing, recovery, review, and delivery in one non-destructive project while preserving every Original.

Getting Started

  1. Create a project and import media without changing its Original.
  2. Build one or more sequences and arrange clips across video, audio, subtitle, and chapter lanes.
  3. Trim, split, keyframe, mix, grade, subtitle, and review any AI proposals.
  4. Save the .qstudio project and resolve missing or relinked media before delivery.
  5. Choose an export preset or Publish Package and wait for verified completion.
Tip: Keep proxy and render cache files disposable; the project and Originals are the source of truth.

Non-Destructive Timeline to Verified Delivery

QuickStudio uses Original media for final delivery, keeps edits in .qstudio, removes partial outputs on failure, and reports completion only after reopening and decoding the result.

  • Multitrack timeline: Magnetic V1 editing with overlays, audio, subtitles, chapters, markers, transitions, and multiple sequences.
  • Precision editing: Trim, split, slip, slide, speed ramp, reverse, keyframes, curves, effects, LUTs, titles, and adjustment clips.
  • Audio and voice: Mix, meter, denoise, EQ, voice priority, loudness review, and record non-destructive voiceover takes.
  • Subtitles and chapters: Edit canonical cues, import or propose transcripts, create chapters, and export sidecars.
  • Review-only assistance: Whisper, Silence Cut, BGM Assist, Chapters, Shorts Plans, and Publish Copy remain proposals until Apply.
  • Verified delivery: Export validated media, thumbnails, interchange reports, archives, and atomic publish packages.
Note: Review every export, subtitle, chapter, thumbnail, loudness result, and interchange fidelity report before publication.

Settings

Open Settings to review the following app-specific controls:

  • Media, proxy, cache, autosave, recovery, and storage preferences
  • Preview, audio device, performance, display, and accessibility settings
  • Whisper model, MCP, Agent Memory, and optional AI provider controls
  • Keyboard shortcuts, appearance, export defaults, privacy, and licenses

Trial, Free, and Pro use the same functional feature set. Pro removes mobile ads and the daily desktop support reminder.

Keyboard Shortcuts

On Apple platforms, use Command where the app maps a displayed Ctrl shortcut to the platform primary modifier. The in-app shortcut page remains authoritative.

Tips & Tricks

Keep proxy and render cache files disposable; the project and Originals are the source of truth.
Use In/Out points for a focused review or range export.
Preview AI and transcript proposals before Apply; accepted changes become ordinary undoable edits.
Use Publish Package when video, thumbnail, subtitles, chapters, copy, and Shorts must stay together.

Troubleshooting

ProblemWhat to check
Media is missingUse Relink and select the correct Original; verify identity and timebase before continuing.
Preview differs from exportCheck effects labeled as approximate or render-only, then build Render Cache or export a short test.
Export stoppedReview the saved job. Resume restarts the exact settings safely; Discard removes only temporary work.
Whisper is unavailableDownload and verify a supported model in Settings and confirm device resources.

Privacy

  • Original media is never modified.
  • Whisper transcription stays on-device.
  • Optional text cleanup sends only the exact cue IDs and text shown in Data Send Preview.
  • Authenticated MCP exposes a sanitized snapshot and review-only proposal actions, not direct edit or export tools.
