QuickHumming User Guide
QuickHumming captures an idea quickly, preserves the Original Audio first, and makes detected MIDI a reviewable proposal rather than an automatic replacement.
Getting Started
- Choose Humming, Keys, or Pads.
- Record one take and stop when the idea is safely captured.
- Review uncertain notes and compare Before with After.
- Approve the candidate or continue editing timing and pitch non-destructively.
- Export audio or MIDI, archive the draft, or open a copy in QuickTrack.
Tip: Record in a quiet place and sing or whistle one note at a time.

Hum → Review → MIDI
Detection remains a candidate until you approve it. Using the candidate as MIDI commits reviewed notes to the Melody lane without changing Original Audio.
- Three capture modes: Record Humming or enter notes with Keys and Pads.
- On-device pitch analysis: Convert a monophonic voice or whistle into detected note candidates without uploading audio.
- Honest review: Compare Original and detected timing, inspect confidence, edit notes, and approve only what sounds right.
- Non-destructive correction: Trim, timing, pitch, sound, and volume remain project settings instead of replacing the recording.
- Takes and recovery: New recordings become new takes and interrupted work remains available for review.
- Share and continue: Export audio or MIDI, archive the draft, or open a copy in QuickTrack.
Note: Humming analysis is monophonic and does not reliably convert chords, accompaniment, multiple voices, or strong reverb.
Settings
Open Settings to review the following app-specific controls:
- Microphone, audio route, metronome, count-in, and recording preferences
- Pitch analysis, tempo, key, quantize, and review defaults
- Draft, take, archive, export, and QuickTrack handoff behavior
- Keyboard shortcuts, appearance, accessibility, privacy, and notices
Trial, Free, and Pro use the same functional feature set. Pro removes mobile ads and the daily desktop support reminder.
Keyboard Shortcuts
On Apple platforms, use Command where the app maps a displayed Ctrl shortcut to the platform primary modifier. The in-app shortcut page remains authoritative.

Tips & Tricks
Record in a quiet place and sing or whistle one note at a time.
Use headphones so the metronome does not enter the microphone recording.
Stable sounds such as “mm” or “la” are easier to track.
Play an intended note with Keys when a detected note remains uncertain.
Troubleshooting

| Pitch detection is unstable | Reduce background noise, reverb, accompaniment, and overlapping voices; keep the melody monophonic. |
| The metronome is in the take | Use headphones and check the selected input and output routes. |
| A take was interrupted | Open Drafts and review the recoverable take before discarding or finalizing it. |
| QuickTrack handoff is unavailable | Export MIDI or audio, then confirm QuickTrack installation and destination permission. |
Privacy
- Original Audio is saved first as WAV and is never replaced by analysis.
- Pitch analysis runs on-device without uploading music.
- Corrections are non-destructive project settings.
- Recovery preserves interrupted or partially finalized takes for review.
Your responsibility: Record and export only performances, compositions, and source audio you are authorized to use.
